Hello! My name is Derek Fink. I was born and raised in Sidney, Ohio, but after moving throughout the area while flipping houses, I’ve come to call the Miami Valley my home. I’ve been married to my beautiful wife, Jenna, for 17 years, and we have two wonderful children, Eliana (17) and Sam (15). I start with family because there is nothing more important to me.

Throughout my years in business, I’ve seen how often other priorities overshadow what truly matters. That’s why I’ve made it my mission to treat all my clients as if they were part of my own family.

I currently manage the Sidney office of Howard Hanna Real Estate Services. For the past six years, I have managed this office under the brokerage Home Experts Realty. Home Experts Realty was a Dayton-based brokerage that had never expanded farther north than Troy. Another agent and I opened the Sidney office in 2020, guided by the same philosophy I am bringing to Fink Auction and Appraisal: take care of people, and everything else will take care of itself. Having sold over 300 homes in my relatively young real estate career, I’ve learned that there are always more ways to help my clients achieve their goals. I never want to sit at your table and say, “I can’t help you with that.” My goal is to help you navigate any situation you find yourself in.

To ensure I deliver the best auction experience possible, I’ve spent countless hours researching auction platforms, marketing strategies, and the latest technologies. While I may be a young auctioneer, I’m no stranger to the industry. I grew up attending auctions with my dad, who has been a power seller on eBay since its inception. I’ve also surrounded myself with some of the brightest minds in the auction industry to learn from their expertise. Completing my training at The Ohio Auction School further equipped me with the tools to be the best auctioneer I can be.

When I began my career in real estate, I said, “I want to transcend the way real estate has always been done.” I’ve accomplished this in more ways than I ever imagined. What I’m most proud of is creating a real estate group, not just a team. In traditional teams, everything revolves around one person, and everyone works for them. In our group, every agent operates independently while coming together to challenge and support one another. This approach has led to greater success than I ever anticipated, with multiple agents from our group consistently ranking on our brokerage’s leaderboard.

I believe true leadership is defined by bringing out the best in those around you, not by hoarding all the glory for yourself. I’m bringing this same passion and drive to the auction industry. My goal isn’t to reinvent the wheel but to take the wheel and make it better.
